Daily Prayer For January 8, 2021

Hello Friends! Here is the prayer for today…
Dear Lord,
In your Word, we are told that you direct the steps of a righteous person, and you bless their path. You ask us to trust and rely confidently on you with our whole heart…to not depend on our own understanding or insight…to acknowledge and recognize you in all of our ways, and you will lead and guide us on the correct path. You will make the crooked paths straight and the rough roads smooth. Your Word will be a light to our feet and on our path. You will get us to where we need to be. You don’t always lead us on the most direct route. What you have to teach us on our journey is just as important as reaching our destination.
Please help us to be patient as you lead us. Help us trust you and remember that you are the one who orders our steps and our days. You are a good Father. You see the obstacles and snares, as well as the blessings we would miss out on if we did everything our own way… if we followed the path that we think is best, instead of letting you guide us.
Help us find joy in the journey itself, especially when the path before us is longer and harder than we’d like. Help us learn to be content, relax, and be at peace as we wait on you to complete the good work you are doing in us, through us, and for us.
Life goes by so fast. Please help us not to waste our days wishing for what was or what could be. Help us to learn to dance in the rain instead of waiting for the storms to pass. Help us to do better and be better this year when it comes to waiting, trusting, coping with struggles, growing in faith, and learning to seek the blessings buried in the midst of our struggles. We love you, Lord, and we dedicate this day to you. We ask these things in the name of Jesus. Amen
