Daily Prayer For December 31, 2020
on Thu Dec 31, 2020 5:54 pm
Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…
Dear Lord,
It’s hard to believe we find ourselves on the last day of the year. As difficult as this year has been, it has passed quickly. As we look back on 2020, we are so grateful for all you have seen us through. It has been a hard year, with many losses, changes, and struggles. We thank you for your grace that has sustained us. We thank you for the strength you gave us to replace our weaknesses and for your comforting presence in our lives. We thank you for our friends and family who have stood beside us through thick and thin. We thank you for your faithful provision and for your hand of protection that has been upon us. We thank you for the opportunities you’ve given us to join together in prayer and to grow closer to you.
As we move forward into this new year, please help us not dwell on the past or the things we are powerless to change. Help us so to look forward with hope, faith, and courage. We are grateful that no matter what the future holds, we can face it with your help, strength, power, and grace. We are thankful that no matter how much life changes, you never change. We are grateful that you remain the solid rock on which we stand and our ever-present source of help. We are so grateful that our days and years start and end with you.
Please comfort all who are missing loved one’s today. Please lay your healing hand on all who are ill and provide for all who are in need. May all who feel alone feel your peace envelop them like a warm blanket on a cold night. Usually, this is a festive day. Circumstances are not allowing us to celebrate as we might have in previous years. Many are feeling the loss of traditions and gatherings with friends and family. Help us to find joy in the day and reasons to smile. Help us focus on our blessings and all we have to be thankful for. In the name of Jesus, we ask these things. Amen.
Wishing you all a safe and blessed New Year’s Eve! Thank you for allowing me to be part of your lives. Thank you for your encouragement, support, and prayers for my family and me. I am humbled, grateful, and blessed to call you friends and brothers and sisters in the Lord!
