Daily Prayer For December 23, 2020
on Wed Dec 23, 2020 11:58 pm
Hello Friends! I felt led to repost this prayer today…
Dear Lord,
You tell us if we are weary to come to you, and you will give us rest. For many, this time of year is more stress-filled than joy-filled. There is more on our to-do-lists than normal. Financial struggles are magnified. Losses are magnified. Our lack of energy or good health seems to be magnified. For many, the things that we lack seem to scream louder than the blessings we have. This is touted as the happiest time of the year, but for many, they can’t wait for this season to be over.
When we feel like we can least afford to slow down and be still, it is when we need to do it the most. May we dare to go against our natural inclination to keep running on empty or powering through, and just stop and be still before you so we can be refilled, refreshed, renewed, and restored.
May each of us find your joy in the midst of our difficult days. Help us take our thoughts captive and focus on the things above so we can find your peace. Help us remember your promise that your grace will be enough to see us through all we face. We don’t have to worry about tomorrow. We don’t have the grace to see us through tomorrow yet, but we will have it tomorrow. We just have to face this day…one hour at a time, we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. Your grace, strength, peace, and joy will be enough to see us through.
In the quiet of this moment, we give you our cares, pain, illnesses, loved ones, and all that weighs heavily on us. We surrender everything to you and commit it all to your hands. Thank you for being our burden-bearer and our loving Shepherd who leads us to still waters so you can restore our souls. Thank you for knowing what we need before we ask and for promising to provide. We praise you and thank you in advance for all you will do this day. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen
May you find rest, peace, and comfort in Him, friends!
