Daily Prayer For December 21, 2020
on Mon Dec 21, 2020 5:49 pm
Hello Friends! Here is the prayer for today…
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for this new day. Father, we are grateful for your faithful presence in our lives. We are grateful that when the hard things in life hit us like a wave, you are there to catch us. We are grateful that we do not ever walk alone on the difficult roads we must travel. We are grateful for your grace that sustains us and for your comfort when we mourn. We are grateful for your assurance that we can handle everything we face with your help.
This time of year there is always so much illness, and this year that number has increased dramatically because of covid. So many people are sick, Father. Families are suffering and in pain because of the loss of loved ones. So many are unable to be with loved ones, and that only magnifies their grief and pain. So many are struggling with depression, hopelessness, fear, anxiety, and feeling helpless and alone. Father, you know all of this. You see each hurting heart and all who are struggling under the weight of heavy burdens and cares. We join together and pray that all who are in pain will feel your comfort and nearness. May all who are in turmoil know your peace that passes all understanding.
This year has taken us by surprise with all of its twists and turns and ups and downs, but you are not taken by surprise by any of it. All of our sorrows, disappointments, and struggles are why Jesus came. We are so grateful that our Savior humbled himself to bring us hope. We are grateful that His hope still shines brightly like a beacon in the darkest night. You, the Creator of All and The One who knows all things, knew when Jesus was born that 2020 was going to be a year of upheaval and turmoil, shutdowns, quarantines, and pain and loss. You knew we needed hope and a Savior, and you gave us Jesus. We are grateful for our Messiah and Savior who came to bring good news to the poor, heal the brokenhearted, and free the captives who are oppressed and bruised by tragedies. Thank you, Father, for Jesus.
As we go into this week, no matter what we face, good or bad, help us remember, we have Jesus. The fact that we are His and He is ours is our greatest gift. We love you, Father, and we thank you for our Savior in whose name we pray. Amen
May you have a blessed day and week, friends!
