Daily Prayer For December 15, 2020
on Tue Dec 15, 2020 5:59 pm
Hello Friends! Here is the prayer for today…
Dear Heavenly Father,
You tell us to be anxious for nothing and to pray about everything. We admit, there is so much going on that makes us anxious and robs us of peace. It seems almost daily something new arises to give us another reason to be distressed and concerned. Please help us to be more like the apostles. They lived with so much uncertainty. They often didn’t know where their next meal would come from. They lived in perilous and evil times. They knew at any moment they could be persecuted and imprisoned for their faith. There was no stability in their lives except for Jesus. When we read how they could be content in times of need or want, sing while imprisoned and count everything that happened to them as joy, we know we have so far to go to grow in our faith.
We see our need for you more than ever, Father. Please help us to be so anchored in you that we can’t be shaken or moved. Help us remember that Jesus and your Holy Spirit are alive within us. When we feel overwhelmed by life and all we are dealing with, help us remember that you are near and it is your power and strength, not our own, that will hold us together and sustain us. Please be our strength and shield and help us to guard our hearts and minds.
You know all that is within us, everything that concerns us, and all that makes us sad and weighs heavily upon us. We surrender everything to you at this moment and ask your Holy Spirit to help us keep pressing on in faith. May your will be done, not our own. Please fill us with your peace and lead and guide us. Thank you for bearing our burdens and being our ever-present source of help in times of trouble. We thank you that we can ask these things in the name of Jesus. Amen.
May His peace and comfort fill your hearts to overflowing, friends!
