Daily Prayer For December 2, 2020
on Tue Dec 08, 2020 8:32 pm
Hello Friends! Here is today’s prayer…
Dear Lord,
This time of year always reminds us of how many prophecies were fulfilled with the birth of Jesus. Centuries passed between when it was prophesied that the Messiah would come and when Jesus was actually born. Many grew to doubt your promises even as you were lining things up and arranging things so prophecies could unfold as they were foretold. Help us to remember that at times you may seem silent, but you are never absent. You are always faithful…we are often forgetful. Too often, we forget your past deeds, miracles, and promises. We forget that waiting time is not wasted time…It always serves a purpose. Help us remember that you are always working behind the scenes putting things in motion to fulfill your plans, purposes, promises, and prophecies.
Please forgive us when we are impatient and when we are filled with doubts more than faith. Help us remember that this day, this week, or this coming month could be the appointed time when we see our prayers answered and promises fulfilled. Help us to trust you and your timing. Help us to stand fast, be strong and courageous, and never give up. Help us remember that you will complete and accomplish all that you have ordained for us. Help us to be persistent in prayer and purposeful in proclaiming your promises. Help us keep our eyes on you and not the clock, the calendar, or any other thing that might discourage us or make us doubt that you are in control and your timing is perfect. Help us remember that you will reward us if we don’t grow weary in doing good.
Our minds will feast on what we feed them. When we are called to wait on you, remind us to consistently feed ourselves with your promises and Word. You have given us the scriptures, not to be used as an occasional treat, but as our daily bread. It is rare for us to be too busy to eat, but we often get too busy or distracted to take time to feed ourselves from your Word. You have so graciously prepared a feast for us, yet we often settle for a few crumbs on the run. Please forgive us for the many times we have allowed ourselves to become spiritually malnourished by not partaking in all you’ve provided for us to be spiritually healthy. Please help us to do better in this area.
As we enter this last month of the year, we re-dedicate our lives to you and ask you to heal us, cleanse us, and create a right spirit within us. Make us people after your own heart. May we honor you and bring you glory through all of our preparations and celebrations this month. With humble, thankful hearts, we ask these things in Jesus’ name. Amen
Blessings be upon you, friends!
