Hello Friends! Here is the prayer for today…

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for seeing us through this week. Father, you tell us to be anxious for nothing and to pray about everything so we can have your peace that passes all understanding. Father, we admit, there is so much going on that makes us anxious and robs us of peace. It seems almost daily that something new arises to give us another reason to be distressed and concerned. Please help us to be more like the apostles. They lived with so much uncertainty. They didn’t know where their next meal would come from or where the money they needed to live would come from. They lived in perilous and evil times. They knew at any moment they could be persecuted and imprisoned for their faith. There was no stability in their lives except for Jesus. When we read how they could be content in times of need or want, sing while imprisoned and count everything that happened to them as joy, we know we have so far to go to grow and mature in our faith.

We see our need for you more than ever, Father. Please help us to be so anchored in you that we can’t be shaken or moved. Help us to remember that Jesus and your Holy Spirit are alive within us. When we feel overwhelmed by life and all we are dealing with, help us remember that you are near and it is your power and strength, not our own, that will hold us together and enable us to keep pressing on. Teach us how to give thanks in all things. Be our strength and shield and help us to guard our hearts and minds. Help us to be the people you want us to be. We know we can’t do these things on our own, but we can do them through Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit. You know all that is within us, all which concerns us, and all that weighs heavily upon us. We surrender everything to you at this moment and trust everything to your hands. May your will be done. Please fill us with your peace, and renew a right spirit within us. Thank you for bearing our burdens and for being our ever-present source of help in times of trouble. We thank you in advance for all you will do. In the name of Jesus, we ask these things. Amen.

May His joy be your strength, and His peace fill your hearts, friends!
