Daily Prayer For October 27, 2020
on Tue Oct 27, 2020 7:29 pm
Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…
Our Father,
You show us with so many examples in your Word that you do not think as we do. You chose Moses, a man with a speech impediment, to speak for you. You chose a young shepherd boy to show that it is faith in you that helps us defeat our giants. You allowed Sarah to conceive at the age of 90. You took Joseph, who had been a slave and a prisoner, and elevated him to a place of prestige and power in the palace of Pharoah. We are grateful that numbers, pedigrees, worldly qualifications, and difficult or impossible circumstances are stepping stones instead of stumbling blocks to you. We are in awe of how you use the least likely of people to fulfill your plans, purposes, and miracles. We are thankful that you see in us what no one else can see…that you often see what we don’t even see in ourselves. Help us to be open to what you want to do in us and through us. Help us not to limit you in any way.
Help us remember that the world may look up to those who are mighty in strength and power, but you despise the proud. Help us to have a right spirit before you, Father. Help us be humble and meek and seek and value your will, ways, and wisdom above all else. Help us remember that what you require of us is to do right, love mercy, and walk humbly with you.
Please help us live our lives with our eyes on the prize, our high calling, and what has eternal and lasting value. Help us to be the people you’ve called us to be…people who are set apart…people who are in this world, but not of it. Help us to live our lives with integrity and in such a way that we bring glory and honor to you and represent you well. Help us to live to please you and not to be a people pleaser. There are many forces at work trying to tell us what we should think and feel and how we should act. Please lead, guide us, and help us be obedient to you, even when others don’t agree or understand. Help us to be unafraid to stand on the truth of your Word and to speak your truth in love. Please go before us this day and bless us so we can bless others. We love you and praise you and thank you that we can ask these things in Jesus’ name. Amen.
May you feel His peace, power, and presence today, friends!
