Daily Prayer For October 8, 2020 Empty Daily Prayer For October 8, 2020

on Sun Oct 11, 2020 1:18 am
Hello Friends! I feel led to re-post this prayer today…

Dear Lord,

Our world has become a place where many don’t stop to think before they speak or act. Many people have little regard for how their words or actions will impact others. It seems many don’t consider or value any viewpoint or feelings other than their own. There is little room for civil discussions about differing points of view. Fewer people seem to show grace or compassion; there is little room given for people to grow and learn from past mistakes. There is little in the way of forgiveness or mercy in public forums. A transgression made in a person’s youth can count against them as if it happened yesterday. We know our enemy accuses us night and day, and we see his attitude and accusations spilling over into our world in ways we have not seen before. All of these things are so disheartening and disturbing, Lord.

Please help us to be different from the world. Help us to act and be like Jesus. Help us to show mercy, kindness, and forgiveness, even when it’s not shown to us. Help us to overcome evil with good. While others spew hate and anger, may we be known by our love…your love. Help us see people and our circumstances through your eyes. Help us be slow to anger. Help us remember who our real enemy is. Help us, so we don’t lose sight of the greater war being fought…the war for your kingdom, salvation, and eternity. You tell us not to be caught up in foolish controversies and arguments. Please lead and guide us and grant us wisdom to know when to speak up and when we should remain silent.

Help us remember the best thing we can do is lift people in prayer to you. You are The One who can make blind eyes see and soften the hearts of men. Help us turn our frustrations and the things that upset us into prayers. Help us to let go of the things that upset us, so we don’t dwell on them. Help us to get better at not letting people or circumstances rob us of your peace and joy. Help us, so we don’t give bitterness, anger, or unforgiveness a chance to grow roots in our hearts. We give you our hurts, disappointments, frustrations, and our difficult circumstances and relationships. Please heal the wounds that have been inflicted by others. Help us to forgive others as you forgive us. Help us be content with the knowledge that you know our hearts, intentions, and the truth of every situation, even when others don’t. Help us to do our best and to trust everything else to your hands. Help us to be peacemakers that point the way to you. We ask these things in Jesus’ name. Amen.

May you have a peace-filled day!

~Hope For The Brokenhearted
