Daily Prayer For August 23, 2020 Empty Daily Prayer For August 23, 2020

Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…

Dear Lord,

The older we get, the harder life seems to get. We face more health challenges. We see those we love decline in their health. We start losing more and more people that we love. At times we are faced with responsibilities and hard decisions that come with age where there are no good options, yet we are required to make a choice.

For everyone who is facing difficult decisions and for those who are in hard situations, we ask that they would hear your voice clearly. Please lead and guide each one and grant them your wisdom, knowledge, and discernment. Please fill each of us with peace and courage. May we all feel your comforting presence, and be assured that you are with us and will continue to be with us in all that lies ahead. May we find support, encouragement, and understanding from others. Sometimes people just don’t understand what is involved behind the scenes…they don’t have all the facts…they don’t know the things that we know. Sometimes they know, but they just disagree with the decisions we make. Often, others don’t see the pain and heartache that is involved in the decisions and choices that we have to make.

Help us to cling to you in difficult times. Help us to focus on you and not the opinions of others. Give us the strength and courage to do the hard things we are asked to do. Help us to hold our heads high when we are falsely accused, gossiped about or slandered with lies and untruths. Help us to be content with the knowledge that you know the truth of every situation, and it is your opinion and approval that matters most.

You alone know everything about each of us. One day all of us will see clearly the times we misjudged, the times we took things wrong, the times we misunderstood someone’s intentions, and the times our feelings obscured facts. Help us all to have more patience, grace, sympathy, and compassion towards others…especially if we can’t begin to relate to the things they are dealing with. Unfortunately, most of us rarely understand what others go through until we are called to walk in similar shoes.

Please meet us where we are today. Please fill us with your Holy Spirit. We are grateful that you are our source of peace and comfort and our shelter from the storms. Thank you for walking beside us in every phase of our lives. We are thankful to have you as our Shepherd to lead us through every challenge, valley, and decision we face. We love you and ask these things in the name of Jesus. Amen.

May you find peaceful rest in Him, friends!
