Daily Prayer For August 12, 2020
on Wed Aug 12, 2020 11:15 pm
Hello Friends! Here is today’s prayer…
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for another day of life. Thank you for another chance to make a difference for your kingdom. When we are going through struggles, and dealing with adversity and losses, we often feel weak, broken, and fragile. We feel like we can’t deal with one more thing, yet more things come. When we look back on our lives, we can see how our struggles have made us stronger. Help us to remember that we have the Holy Spirit living within us…that we have the same power that raised Christ from the dead within us. You are not fragile, and therefore we are not fragile. Jesus, The Lion of The Tribe of Judah, is roaring within us. We may fall, but you pick us up.
The things we tell ourselves matter. The things we believe matter. You tell us, “as a man thinketh, so he is.” Help us to remember whose we are. Help us to meditate on your Word night and day, so your truth comes alive in us…so we remember your promises…so we have faith over fear and don’t rely on how we feel, but on what you say.
You know we are facing things that we have never encountered before. There is an insidious evil that is rapidly spreading to silence the voices that speak for you and believe in you. Persecution and the genocide of Christians around the world are worse now than at any time in history. In so many countries, at this very moment, Christians are being told they have a choice…renounce their faith, or they will be tortured, stripped of their belongings, lose their freedom, or lose their lives. We pray for our brothers and sisters around the world. We pray for their deliverance and for your divine intervention. We pray that they will feel your courage, strength, peace, and comforting presence. You tell us to pray for our enemies and those who persecute us…so, we pray that all who are committing evil acts would have a Damascus Road experience like Paul.
We know it’s our adversary who wants us to believe that we are weak and broken beyond repair…that we are fragile and are unable to be healed or restored…that we have no voice or purpose. Help us to remember that he is the father of lies and a deceiver. You equip us for what you call us for. You tell us we are hard-pressed on every side, but not crushed. We are persecuted but are not alone or abandoned. We are struck down but not destroyed. Help us to see ourselves as you see us. Give us your vision, so we see our lives and our struggles as you see them. Help us to speak your life-giving and life-changing truths over ourselves and to others. Help us to rise up in your strength and power today and to keep fighting the good-fight. Thank you for being with us in all that we face. In the name of Jesus, we ask these things. Amen.
Blessings be upon you, friends!
