Daily Prayer For July 20, 2020
on Tue Jul 21, 2020 8:00 pm
Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…
Dear Lord,
Sometimes it’s hard to live with the mistakes of our past…the missed opportunities…the time we’ve wasted…the words we’ve uttered that we wish we could take back…all the things we wish we had said but didn’t…the consequences of the poor choices we’ve made…the people and things that we neglected or didn’t appreciate when we had the chance…all the times we have failed you.
There is no one alive who doesn’t have regrets or things they wish they could go back and change or do differently. We’ve had time this year to reflect on our blessings and all we’ve taken for granted. May the lessons we’ve learned inspire us to spend the rest of our days loving others well and living with an attitude of gratitude. We can’t go back and change the past, but we can try to do better from this day forward.
Our adversary continually accuses us and reminds us of our failings. Help us to embrace your grace and your forgiveness and live in the freedom you offer us. Help us to remember that at the name of Jesus, our accuser must flee. May we listen to your voice and not his lies. May what you say about us be our inner voice and be what defines us. Help us to look forward with hope and not backward with regret. Help us to live in the moment and make each day the best it can be for ourselves, for those we love and for the world around us.
Help us to keep doing the next, right thing that is in front of us and then just do the next thing, and then the next thing…one step at a time, one day at a time. With your help, we become better and do better as we grow in you. We thank you for your compassion, grace, understanding, and forgiveness. Help us to do our best and trust you for everything else. Thank you for your unconditional love that encourages us to keep holding on, pressing in and keep pressing on to the high calling of Jesus. We thank you and praise you and ask these things in the name of Jesus, our Savior. Amen
May you have a blessed and peace-filled week!
