Daily Prayer For July 17, 2020
on Tue Jul 21, 2020 7:45 pm
Hello Friends! Here is the prayer for today…
Dear Lord,
Please help us to walk wisely in your ways and in this world. Your Word often speaks about foolishness…that foolish people build their foundation on shifting sand instead of building their lives on Christ the solid rock. The Bible says that fools hate knowledge, and they despise wisdom and instruction…that they take no pleasure in learning, only in sharing their opinions. We’re told that the foolish give full vent of their feelings, but the wise quietly hold back. Scripture says that a fool’s mouth is his ruin, and his lips are a snare to his soul. We’re told that a wise person is cautious and turns away from evil, but a fool is reckless and careless.
Please help us to not be foolish in any of our ways. We pray to have a spirit that is teachable, trainable and continuously becoming more like Jesus. May the words that come from our mouth be edifying, encouraging, uplifting, and glorifying to you. May our actions and character reflect Jesus. May our thoughts be pure and in submission to Christ. You tell us to be watchful and on guard because our adversary is always on the prowl seeking whom he can destroy. He knows our weak areas, and when we are vulnerable. He sends people to come against us and creates situations to damage us, distract us, tempt us, stress us, and make us lose our witness.
Please help us to be wise with the people we surround ourselves with, with the conversations we engage in and with the things that we allow to into our thoughts and lives. May we be consumed by your love…with your Spirit…with Your Word and not the cares of life. Help us not to be conformed to this world but transformed by the renewing of our minds. May we know your will and what is good, acceptable, and perfect in your eyes. Please forgive us when we fail and fall short. Help us to keep rising when we fall and to keep persevering, pressing in and pressing on. Thank you for your patience and your grace and for not giving up on us. We are grateful that we can ask these things in Jesus’ name. Amen
May your day be blessed!
