Daily Prayer For July 12, 2020 Empty Daily Prayer For July 12, 2020

on Sun Jul 12, 2020 11:50 pm
Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…

Our Father,

When we are dealing with trials, pain, loss, and grief, it can feel like we’re caught up in a raging storm. It’s hard to see or think clearly. Everything seems off, and nothing seems right. It’s hard to get our bearings. We don’t have a sense of when the storm will end, or what will be left standing after it’s over.

You know how hard it is for us to live in the moment. You know how difficult it is to feel peaceful amid our storms. Yet, it is possible through Jesus. Peter was able to literally walk on water in the middle of a storm-ravaged sea by keeping his eyes on Christ. While the disciples panicked during a storm, Jesus slept soundly. You tell us that those who abide in you are safe under the shelter of your wing. The safest place we can be in any storm is by your side. What we can never do on our own, we can do with Christ’s help.
Please help us, Father, to have your peace that defies our circumstances. Help us to remember that no matter what is going on around us, you are our stability and the source of our peace. It’s not the absence of the storms that give us peace, it’s your presence in the storm that matters. We are held safely and securely in your hand as surely as you keep the earth spinning in place. Help us to find rest in you. When we are called to wait for answers and outcomes, help us to wait well.
We give you our fears, grief, pain, sadness, insecurities, anxious thoughts, illnesses, our troubled relationships, and situations. We give you our financial needs, all of our questions, frustrations, and all of the things that keep us awake at night. We give you all of our concerns for our family and friends. We give you all of the things that are beyond our control. We ask to trade these things for your peace and your yoke that is gentle and light. We ask for your divine intervention and for your will to be done in the situations we bring to you. We know the storms we are dealing with are teaching us things that we can’t learn when things are calm, and we have smooth sailing. Please calm the storms within us, and fill us with your peace while we wait for you to still the storms around us. Please do a mighty work in us, Father, that we might grow and mature spiritually. We want to be more faith-filled like Peter. We want to trust you so much we would be willing to step out of our boats and do the impossible with your help. We thank you for our Savior, in whose name we ask these things, Amen.

May you have a peace-filled day, friends!

~Hope For The Brokenhearted
