Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…

Dear Lord,

Many men and women have lost their lives through the course of history as they protected their homelands, freedom, and their loved ones…as they made a stand against tyranny and evil men…as they sought justice, and the right to worship freely. Today we honor their sacrifices and their willingness to lay down their lives for others. We honor their memory, their bravery, their courage, and their valor…

Please be with all who are missing loved one’s today. May each one feel your nearness, peace, and comfort in their pain, grief, and loss. We thank you for your promise to comfort those who mourn and to be near to the brokenhearted.

We pray for all who have loved ones in the military and for all who are deployed. Please protect them and meet their every need. May they find your strength to carry them on the hard days, and your peace to replace their fears and anxious thoughts. Please bring everyone home safely and put a hedge of protection around those who are in harm’s way.

We also pray for all veterans and those who serve as they remember and miss their fallen brothers and sisters. We ask for healing, comfort, and provision for all of their needs… emotionally, mentally, physically, and financially. May they receive the treatment, care, respect, and honor they so deserve.

This day is not about political differences and who is right or wrong. It’s not a time to debate if war is ever the necessary course of action. This day is to remember the men and women who died too soon and left loved ones to mourn their loss.

Because of the pandemic, we realize how many of our freedoms we have taken for granted. May we never forget the high price so many have paid for us to live in safety, free of tyranny and oppression, and to have the ability to worship freely. These are blessings that many around the world do not have. Help us to live our lives in such a way that we honor their sacrifices. Help us to live with gratitude and appreciation for our many blessings. Please help us to never take anything in our lives for granted again.

We look forward to the day when there will be no more war, no more pain, no more tears, no more being separated from loved ones…no more death. We are thankful there’s coming a day when there will be no need to protect anyone from evil or harm. We thank you for all we have to look forward to because of all that Jesus sacrificially gave to us. We are thankful that we can join together and ask these things in Jesus’ name. Amen

May you have a safe and blessed day, friends!
