Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…

Dear Lord,

We thank you for this day. We thank you for the gift of life. We thank you for our mothers and all who have poured into us with their love, support, and encouragement. Please bless each one as they have blessed us. Lord, you know that for so many, Mother’s Day is hard. For many, their mother is absent from their life… others didn’t have a good relationship with their mom, and today just brings up painful memories. Many are estranged from, or never even knew their mom, while others are hurting as they have loved ones in ill and declining health.

This year is exceptionally difficult on a broader scale, as families are not allowed to travel or visit each other. Many are being kept away from their elderly and ill loved ones to keep them safe. Many are not only grieving today, but they are isolated on top of their grief. Lord, for all who are struggling with sadness, loneliness, grief, or loss today, we ask for your peace and comfort to envelop them. We especially ask for your comfort for those who are experiencing their first Mother’s Day without their loved ones. Lord, please touch each heart as only you can. Please rain down your grace and mercy.

We also lift to you all of the mothers who have lost children. We pray for the mother’s who are estranged from their children and grandchildren…for the women who have longed to be a mother but have empty arms…and for the mother’s who have children who are terminally ill or who are dealing with chronic illness, disabilities or addictions. May every hurting heart feel your nearness and comfort today.
We also pray for all of the single mothers and fathers who serve as both dad and mom and all who have become caregivers to their mothers. May each one who finds themselves in these hard places take comfort knowing they are seen by you. You see all the struggles, and you are aware of the many ways that they sacrifice for their children and parents. Please be their strength, provider, helpmate, and source of encouragement.

Thank you for your unconditional love for us. We pray for every person today who feels unloved, unwanted, or abandoned. May they be reminded of your great love for them. May they find comfort knowing that you have known them before they were even in their mother’s womb, and they are loved, cherished, and adored by you. Lord, you are the only one who can fill the broken, empty places in our lives. We ask that you would minister to everyone who is hurting today, no matter what the reason.

Thank you for our many blessings. May we appreciate those we love, and all who love us every day of the year. We ask these things in Jesus’ name. Amen!

Blessings to you all!
