Daily Prayer For April 21, 2020
on Tue Apr 21, 2020 8:11 pm
Hello, Friends! I’m feeling led to re-post this today…
Dear Lord,
Your Word says that you are in our midst, and you are The Warrior who saves. You delight in us and rejoice over us with joy-filled songs, and you quiet our fears with your love. When we read those words, we can picture a parent sitting beside their child at night singing them to sleep and comforting them, drying their tears, and speaking gentle words of assurance so they can rest peacefully. As a child drifts off to sleep, it is comforting and helpful for them to hear the soothing sounds of a parent who loves and cares for them. The child’s last waking thoughts are that they have a parent who is beside them, watching over them and protecting them.
Children never know the many nights they have had a parent sit in the dark, gazing lovingly at them, just watching them breathe. They never know about all the nights they experienced fitful sleep, and their parent was there rubbing their back and speaking the soft, soothing words, “it’s okay, I’m here…” May we be moved when we picture you sitting beside us, singing over us, and reminding us that all is well…that we are loved…that we are under your watchful eye and care and that we can go to sleep without fear or worry because you are awake. Our struggles, heartaches, losses, and pain will never have the last word over us when we remember that you are our Abba Father.
At times we don’t hear your voice as loudly and clearly as we would like. At times we don’t feel your nearness… but you are always with us day and night, whispering your words of love and encouragement to us. You are always there as the fierce warrior, protecting His children. You are always with us as our wise Father who knows what to do in every situation…
When we feel overwhelmed, distraught, scared, alone, discouraged, or unloved, help us to remember you are near. We are held and secure at every moment of every day because we are yours. May we speak encouragement to ourselves and others about these things. Thank you for loving us unconditionally and perfectly, Abba Father. We love you, thank you, and praise you. We are grateful for our Savior in whose name we pray. Amen
May you be comforted by His love!
