Daily Prayer For April 16, 2020
on Fri Apr 17, 2020 10:01 pm
Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…
Dear Gracious and Merciful God,
Thank you for waking us and for keeping us safe through the night. As we face this day, you know that many are feeling scared, worried, and anxious. For many, the road before them looks long and dark. The uncertainty of what lies ahead is daunting. You tell us in your Word to be anxious for nothing. You know that our human response is to have fear in certain situations…you created us with the fight or flight response to save our lives when dangerous things threaten our safety…but you didn’t create us to live in a constant state of stress and fear. You tell us that anxiety in a man weighs his spirit down. Letting go of damaging thoughts and emotions is not easy. It takes steps of faith, conscious decisions on our part, and training our minds to shut down the negative thoughts and replacing them with your truth. Please help us to overcome and be victorious in this area. Help us to break free from the chains of worry, fear, and anxiety, so we can live as you intended. Please lead us, guide us, instruct us, and help us to find your peace and rest emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.
May we all come to that place where we see fruit come from our trials…not just tangible answers to our prayers…but the spiritual gifts you long to give us that only come from struggle and hardship. You care so deeply for us and our well-being. You only want the best for us. Help us to find that place of perfect peace and rest that defies our circumstances. Help us find and unleash the spiritual gifts that you offer us that the world can’t give or take away. Help us to have faith like Horatio Spafford, who wrote the beautiful song, It Is Well With My Soul, in the midst of his deepest pain, losses, and grief. What we can’t do on our own, we can do through Christ. Please do a new thing in us, Lord. Help us be free from the weights of this world so we might receive all that you have for us.
Please go before us this day. Help us to make the most of our time for your glory and kingdom. Help us to not grow weary in well-doing. Help us to renew our strength as we wait on you. Help us to be still before you and let go of all that does not serve us or help us. We ask these things in Jesus’ precious and mighty name. Amen
Praying God’s most abundant blessings will be yours, friends!
