Daily Prayer For January 22, 2020
on Wed Jan 22, 2020 7:18 pm
Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…
Dear Heavenly Father,
You tell us to love our neighbors as ourselves, but with some people, that is so hard to do. Help us to love the difficult people in our lives. Help us to have an agape love for those who have hurt us. Please help us to see beyond the habits, personalities, and traits of others that make them hard to be around. Help us to see as you do and to see the good before the bad. Help us to see beyond the obvious to the underlying things like hidden hurts and issues that may cause bad behavior.
You don’t call us to condone bad behavior. You don’t tell us that we have to be around people who are destructive, abusive, or who mean us harm…but you do ask us to pray for them and to love with your love and to show grace, mercy, and forgiveness. Please help us to do what we can’t do in our own strength. Help us to learn the lessons that you are trying to teach us through the difficult people, relationships, and hard circumstances that you allow into our lives. Please grant us wisdom and discernment about when to be silent and when to speak the truth in love. Please forgive us when we fail and blow it. Help us to do better and be better in the areas we need improvement.
Please meet us where we are at today. For those who didn’t get enough sleep…for all who are ill…for all who are feeling out of it or drained physically, mentally or emotionally…for those who are overwhelmed due to having too many things to do and not enough hours in the day to do everything…for all who are dealing with grief and loss and all who find themselves in unimaginable situations, please minister to each one and bless them with whatever they may need.
We are grateful that you are the God who sees, and you are full of loving-kindness, compassion, and mercy. May we feel your calming presence today and be grounded in these truths…we are loved, we are held, you are near, you are in control, and you will keep us in perfect peace when we keep our eyes and thoughts focused on you. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen
May your day be blessed, friends!
