Daily Prayer For January 19, 2020
on Sun Jan 19, 2020 7:48 pm
Hello Friends! Here is the prayer for today…
Dear Lord,
Thank you for waking us to see this new day. As we gather together, we ask that you would help each of us to be courageous in every area of our lives. There is so much in life that happens that we can not face without the courage that comes from you…things like chronic illness, divorce, losses of every kind, death and physical injury…
We lift up to you all the troubled marriages…all who are divorced and widowed…those who are having to start over after significant losses and all who are in scary, overwhelming places. You see each need, and we ask for your divine intervention. Please help each one to see that their identity is not in their relationship status, financial status, job status, diagnosis, or anything that they have or lack. Our identity lies in all that you say we are. People, society, or our feelings may tell us differently, but through you, and in you, there is life beyond loss and change. May everyone in difficult places find the courage to trust you and to take you at your word that you can heal life’s deepest hurts and bring new life and beautiful new beginnings from our losses and changes.
May all who are facing injury and illness find your strength and courage, so they don’t give in to despair. May they rise each morning with the knowledge that you are with them. What they cannot do or face on their own, they can with your help, power, and strength. We ask you to please lay your healing hand upon each one.
Please grant us the courage to face life without those we love. We know they would want us to rejoice that they are happy in your presence and to carry on with our lives. Life passes so quickly. Please help us not to squander our days by focusing on all that is lost. May we instead make the most of all that remains and allow you to work, unhindered, to rebuild and restore us.
And finally, we ask for the courage to stand for you and all that is right and just. May we bring you glory and honor by the way we live our lives. Give us the courage to speak your truth with love. We thank you for all you’ve seen us through thus far in life. We are grateful that the same power that raised Christ from the dead is alive in us. We are thankful that your grace is sufficient for each and every day. We thank you for being with us in all that we face. We give you all praise, glory, and honor, and thank you in advance for all you will do. In Jesus name, we pray, Amen
May your day be blessed!
