Daily Prayer For December 24, 2019
on Wed Dec 25, 2019 11:08 pm
Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…
Dear Lord,
We lift up to you all who are ill…all who are sad, lonely, anxious, worried, and fearful… all who are feeling like they’ve been left out while the world celebrates and all who are wondering where you are in the midst of their suffering. Lord, may they know you are there. Jesus’ birth reminds us that He is always with us. He humbled Himself and took on flesh, so we would never have to wonder where He is. He is beside us in everything we face. He is going through our trials with us, even while interceding for us. Who better to pray for us than the one who is intimately acquainted with pain, grief, and suffering…THE ONE who sees and hears our innermost thoughts, our deepest longings, and our times of intense suffering and pain. He is our Emmanuel, who promises He will never leave or forsake us.
We can only imagine how scared Mary and Joseph must have felt as they tried to find a place to birth their baby. We can imagine how horrible they felt, knowing that innocent children were being slaughtered because the king feared Jesus’ birth. Jesus was born amid scary, troubling times. The world was against him from the very beginning, but nothing thwarts your plans. Christmas is more than a feeling…it is hope within us…it is the same power that raised Christ from the dead within us…it is the overcoming power of Jesus…it is the belief that when God is involved, miracles happen…a child can be born of a virgin and be the Savior of the world.
We are so grateful for your great love for us that went to such great lengths to make a way for us…to save us…to be with us. May we never doubt our worth and value in your eyes. No matter who rejects us, no matter who has a low opinion of us, no matter who means to do us harm…all that pales in comparison to all you’ve done for us so we can be called your children and share in your Kingdom. Thank you for your incredible gift. We love you. We praise you. We bow before you this day and worship you. In the name of our Messiah Jesus, we pray. Amen
Blessings to you, friends. Praying for traveling mercies for you and a Christmas Eve that is filled with His peace for you and those you love.
