Daily Prayer For November 16, 2019 Empty Daily Prayer For November 16, 2019

on Sat Nov 16, 2019 5:11 pm
Hello Friends! Here is the prayer for today…

Dear Lord,

We are told in your Word that Jesus came not to be served but to serve, and we should follow in His footsteps. In this day and age where we hear so much about “my rights,” “what I need,” “what’s best for me”…in this day and age that is so focused on self, we ask that you would remind us to be people who are set apart. Help us to die to ourselves so that Jesus can be resurrected in us. Help us to grow and mature spiritually, so people see less of us and more of you.

Jesus, in all of His divine glory, stooped down and lovingly washed His disciple’s feet. He did not think that was beneath Him to do an act usually reserved for servants. Jesus was kind and compassionate and sought out those that society looked down on. May we have that same heart and vision.

You see success so differently than the world…you see beauty so differently than the world. Jesus modeled how we should be…what we should value…how to please you. Help us not to seek to impress men but to please you and bring glory to you. Help us to be humble and contrite in spirit.

Please forgive us for all the times we have been prideful. Please forgive us for the times we have put seeking the approval of others above seeking your approval. Help us to remember that if Jesus, who was perfect in all His ways, was unable to please everyone, we will never be able to please everyone, no matter how hard we try. If Jesus was rejected, gossiped about, lied about, slandered, and accused of false things, we know we will experience the same things. Help us to break free from the need to please and seek approval…especially from people who do not have our best interests at heart. Please prompt us when our priorities start straying from where they should be.

You tell us that when we meditate on your Word and when we are careful to do everything that is written in it, then we will be prosperous and successful. Help us to make pleasing you and serving you our number one priority. Help us to have the heart of a servant. Help us to work as unto you. Help us to daily humble ourselves before you. We know that as we seek first your kingdom, all that we need will be given to us. We thank you in advance for all you will do to lead and guide us so we might become a beautiful reflection of Jesus. It’s in His name that we ask these things. Amen

May you have a blessed day, friends!
