Daily Prayer For October 21, 2019
on Mon Oct 21, 2019 5:34 pm
Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…
Dear Heavenly Father,
Your ways are not our ways. Your thoughts are above our thoughts. Many people look at the outward appearance, but you look at our hearts. At times we can feel lost and unimportant…inferior…like no one cares…that our lives don’t matter. Please help us to keep working on figuring out who we are in you. May our sense of self-worth come only from what you think of us. May our validation come from being your child and not what we look like, our financial status, our social status, our health status, our relationship status, or our level of education.
You love us and care enough about us that you sent Jesus to die in our place. May your confidence in us, and your love for us heal our hurts and wounds. Heal us and restore in us a proper attitude. Help us to remember…every trial, all of our pain, and all of our losses and disappointments are being used to make us more like Jesus. You are using everything we have gone through to refine us into Christ’s image. What we see as battle scars and imperfections, you see as beauty marks, just as Christ’s scars are signs of His great love for us.
We pray for those who have hurt us and damaged us. We lift up those who bully, torment, and make fun of others. We lift up those who are verbally abusive…those who lie and slander…those who condemn and judge and those who are superficial and condescending. You tell us to pray for others. To pray for those who persecute us. To pray for our enemies. To be full of compassion, grace, and mercy. Sometimes it’s hard to do that, but we know the people who do these things need to know you. They need to experience your grace and be filled with your love. Help us to forgive and extend the same grace that you show us.
Please help us to spread your love. Help us to reach out with kind words and acts of kindness and compassion. Help us to be your hands and feet and to do the right things, even if others don’t. Help us to be known as encouragers. Help us to lift and build up those around us. Pour yourself into us, so we can pour into the lives of others. Help us not to grow hard, bitter, or cynical. Help us to not retreat into ourselves when we have been treated harshly or unkindly. Help us to overcome and heal, so we don’t make the harsh words of others be the inner voice we listen to above yours. Be glorified in us, Lord, that others may see you in us. In the name of Jesus, we ask these things. Amen
May God blessings shine upon you, friends!
