Hello Friends! Here is today’s prayer…

Dear Lord,

We thank you for all the gifts that you have bestowed on each of us. We thank you that we are fearfully and wonderfully made in your image. You have known us before we were born and you have created us and equipped us in every way for the calling that you have placed on our lives. Our physical attributes, our intellects, our talents, our personalities, and our spiritual gifts were all ordained by you.

So many of us have taken to heart the hurtful words and opinions of others. The enemy uses those words and wounds against us. Many have been beaten down by emotional, mental, physical, and verbal abuse. Many replay in their minds the lies of abusers, enemies, tormentors, and soul-crushers until those words become their inner voice. They lose sight of who you say they are. They struggle to hear or believe your words that speak life and truth. The lies become what they think is the truth. Many feel isolated, unworthy, useless, and damaged to the point that they no longer can see their value or who you say they are.

Lord, please break the chains of all who find themselves in these hard places. Help each of us to see ourselves through your eyes. Help us to hear your voice louder than anyone else’s. We aren’t meant to compare ourselves to others. We can always improve ourselves, but we aren’t to fixate on our imperfections, what we lack or things we can’t change. We can overcome many obstacles with your help. We can always strive to work on our character and to be more like Jesus, but there are many things we fixate on that we aren’t in control of. The enemy calls us many names, but you never call us things like a lost cause, too broken, too damaged, too ugly, unworthy, useless, worthless…those are labels the enemy puts on us. You call us…beloved, chosen, redeemed, your heirs and new creations in Christ.

Help us to reject the lies and choose your truth. Help us to heal from our wounds and cast off the chains that have held us down and held us back. May Your words become our truth and inner voice. Help us to surrender to you only. Help us to take back the power we have surrendered to others. Your Word says that the power of life and death is in the tongue. Help us to speak life to ourselves as well as to others. Help us to rise up to find victory, healing, and wholeness in you. Help our identity to be found in what and who you say we are. Help us to have a healthy sense of who we are in you so we can live our best possible life for you. We ask these things in the name of Jesus, our Chain-Breaker and Way-Maker. Amen

Blessings be upon you, friends!
