Daily Prayer For August 1, 2019
on Thu Aug 01, 2019 8:44 pm
Hello Friends! I’m feeling led to re-post this prayer today…
Dear Heavenly Father,
We read in your Word of how Elijah prayed, and it didn’t rain for three years. He then prayed for rain, and again, you answered his prayer. We are taught that Elijah prayed for you to show your power in front of the followers of Baal, and you answered that prayer as well. Your Word tells us that Joshua prayed for the earth to stand still, and you made that happen. The Bible tells us that the faithful, fervent prayers of a righteous person does much good. We’re told to pray continually and that we should pray with a thankful heart. We’re instructed to bring our prayers and petitions to you, to devote ourselves to prayer, to be thankful… to be joyful in hope, patient in affliction and faithful in prayer.
We read that you are near to all who call on you in truth, and when two or three gather in your name, you are in our midst. We’re told to confess our sins to each other and to pray for each other so we might be healed… and when we come to you and ask in prayer, we must believe and not doubt.
Father, help us to do all the things that you instruct us to do. Help us to grow stronger and more faith-filled with each passing day. We read of the miraculous things that one person with faith in you can do. It’s not our words that matter…it’s the attitude of our heart towards you…it’s being willing to step out in faith…it’s being humble and contrite in spirit and putting our trust and hope in You. Help us to believe that you will do all that you say you will do.
May we daily put you in the rightful place in our hearts and homes. May we humble ourselves before you so we can be used as a vessel for your will and purpose. May we be unafraid to pray big and bold prayers like Elijah and Joshua. You tell us you want to show us great and mighty things that we don’t know about. Create a right spirit within us, so our lives, actions, thoughts, and deeds please and glorify you.
Please work in us and through us. It’s so amazing that you delight in us…that you smile over us… that you long to bless us in ways we can’t begin to imagine. Help us to carry ourselves not as paupers, victims or as orphans who are abandoned and forgotten by you, but as your heirs who have a hope-filled future ordained by you. We are grateful for all you do, for all that you are and that we have a beloved Savior in whose name we can pray. Amen
May you have a blessed day and month friends!
