Daily Prayer For July 29, 2019
on Tue Jul 30, 2019 2:21 pm
Hello Friends! Here is the prayer for today…
Dear Lord,
We are told in your Word that Jesus came not to be served but to serve, and we should follow in His footsteps. Please remind us that we are called to be people who are set apart. Help us to die to ourselves so that Jesus can be resurrected in us. Help us to grow in You, so people see less of us and more of Jesus.
You see success so differently than the world. You see beauty so differently than the world. Jesus modeled how we should be and what we should value. Your Word tells us that what you require from us is to do what is right, to show mercy, kindness, and compassion, and to walk humbly with you, our God. You hate a spirit of pride and entitlement. Help us to do better and be better in this area. Help us not to worry about what others think of us. May pleasing you be what motivates all that we think, say, and do.
Please forgive us for all the times we have been prideful. Please forgive us when we have put our will before yours. Please forgive us for the times we have put seeking the approval of people above seeking your approval. If Jesus, who was perfect, was unable to please everyone, we should know that we will never be able to please everyone, no matter how hard we try. If Jesus was rejected, betrayed, gossiped about, lied about, slandered, and accused of false things, we know we will deal with the same things. Help us to break free from the need to please and the misguided idea than we need to seek approval from others to find our sense of value and self-worth. May we be so full of Jesus, that we don’t need the things that the world has to offer to make us feel complete or whole. Please heal our wounds and help us to find our confidence in You.
You tell us that when we meditate on your Word and when we are careful to do everything that is written in it, then we will be prosperous and successful. Help us to have the humble heart of a servant, like Jesus. Help us to work and do everything as unto you. Help us to daily humble ourselves before you that you might do a mighty work within us.
Please go before us this week and keep us close to you. May we feel your strength and Holy Spirit empower us. We want to hear you say one day, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Help us to live victoriously and triumphantly through Jesus. May we be sure of our purpose and at peace in your presence. In Jesus’ name, we ask these things. Amen
May your week be blessed friends!
