Daily Prayer For September 14, 2017
on Thu Sep 14, 2017 4:13 am
Hello, Friends! Here is today’s prayer…
Our Father,
We know that in this life we all have crosses we must bear…you never promised that life would be pain-free or struggle free…but you did promise to walk beside us and to never leave or forsake us and to carry our burdens and give us rest if we would come to you…you don’t want us to cower in fear, be riddled with anxiety, feel overwhelmed or without hope…you stand at the ready to help us be more than conquerors over every trial and difficulty.
Our burdens seem so much heavier when we become bitter and resentful…when we resist and struggle or become impatient and take things into our own hands…when we focus more on the burdens than on you our burden bearer, our path seems harder and longer…help us to focus on you, Lord…help us not to compare our lot in life with others…you have a plan and a purpose for each of us… we don’t always see what others deal with behind closed doors…may our focus be on trusting you…you always have a plan for whatever you allow to touch our lives.
Please help us remember that one day we will be trading our crosses for a crown…Help us to submit our will to yours. Help us to picture you walking beside us and carrying our heavy loads. You gave so much in this earthly life…you endured so much, that we might live…and you keep giving to us every day as you offer us your peace, your strength, your joy, your love, your grace and your mercy…when our loads start to feel too heavy, help us to stop immediately and not go a step further without stopping to pray and giving everything to you…help us to see our times of adversity, grief, illness and losses as a chance to know you better and a chance to see your power manifest in our weakness and circumstances…your timing may not be our own, your ways may be different from ours, but you not one word you have uttered will ever return void… Thank you, Lord…for all you give…for all you do and for never giving up on us. We are thankful you know our hearts and our needs and with gratitude we look forward to all you will do.
In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen
