Daily Prayer For April 14, 2017

on Fri Apr 14, 2017 8:18 pm

Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…

Dear Lord,

We come together today with humble hearts. We think of you and our hearts are soft before you and we are emotional as we remember all that you went through…as we remember all you endured before you were even hung on that cross. This is such a hard day when we think of all you suffered because of your love for us… there is nothing we can ever say or do that could make us worthy of what you endured and gave up so we might be saved and live for eternity with you. Thank you for your amazing grace!

Thank you, Lord…thank you for taking upon yourself the weight of our every sin. Thank you, for enduring the betrayal, beatings, abuse, slander, ridicule, mocking, pain, and grief…There is no physical pain we will ever face that can compare to what you endured. We will never know the kind of loneliness and isolation that you felt as you were separated from your Father. We will never face anything that could begin to compare to the crushing weight of  sin and shame that you bore for all of us… it is hard to imagine the feelings of hopelessness, despair and helplessness that your family and followers surely felt as they watched you die… as they watched the stone sealing your tomb…as they walked home that night numb, grief-stricken and overwhelmed from all they had just seen and heard…from all they had lost.

If we didn’t know the rest of the story we would be full of despair as well. May this day remind us that even though we don’t know what’s to come in our remaining time on earth…though we don’t see the end in sight for the adversity, grief, loneliness and illness that besets us, we do know that you are alive and well and fully in control and seated on your throne…we do know that death and our adversary have been defeated…our future is secure and we  know what awaits all who believe… this is Friday, but we know Sunday is coming… We know you hold the keys to sin and death and if we never receive another thing from you in this life, we have already received the most precious gifts we could ever receive… salvation and redemption through your  precious blood.

Lord,  with humble hearts we come before you and we thank you for your sacrificial love. We praise you for the hope you give and because you have brought new life from death. We bow before you and say, “worthy is The Lamb that was slain”. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen

May you be overwhelmed by His infinite love for you today!!
